Thought of the moment....

No matter how hard you try, you will NEVER control anyone else's attitudes, actions, or outcomes. The only person that you have the ability to directly impact is you, and it is your responsibility to learn how to do just that...to utilize the knowledge, skills, and abilities you have been given to impact the world in the most positive way that you can EVERY chance you get!

Big 'Ol Tree

This is absolutely my favorite tree on the property. We live on 14 acres and I have trees everywhere, but this one is my favorite. I have yet to put a big swing in it. I think that it would be a fabulous tree to hold a swing.

I would be on it more than the kids, but who would mind. Next fall it will make a most relaxing spot to sit down to write or finish some of my works. I get a lot of inspiration from the outdoors.
I don’t get to go camping much…and when we do, it is in the back yard or in the woods down by our creek. Wow, yeah, I know I am really living the exciting life. lol No really it is great. I am alright as long as the kids are having fun.
We also have a hayfield that my husband wants to turn into a go kart track. I am not so sure that I agree with that, but I am not sure that he will really go through with it…but I never know. Really.
I have come home before and found things not as I had left them. Since his accident and he doesn’t get to drive or work anymore, he has a hard time trying to keep himself busy and gets bored easily. So he remodels the house and sometimes demolishes things.
I have come home to no kitchen before, no bathroom and just most recently…no shingles on the roof. Guess what? Yup, we got a new roof ! LOL. My life is always interesting and sometimes stressful, but I don’t regret any of it.
So with some of the things that he does for him to keep busy, good things come out of it for me too. So eventually I will work on the swing…the place where I will go to dissolve any stress or anxiety that may be creeping up on me.
So where do you go to unwind? Or what do you do? Give me pointers.

I never unwind, but I'm loving your tree.

That is a gorgeous tree and I can see how that can inspire you. Great blog.
I love the outdoors too!

Love the colours on the tree, and it must be a nice spot for shade in the summer, too. The swing is a great idea, you should definitely do that. I, too, get a lot of inspiration from the outdoors. I don't have 14 acres of land to roam around on, but there is a conservation area close to my house and an abundance of nature trails so I take walks around those to help me unwind/for inspiration. I also sit out in my hot tub and stare at the stars, curl up in my reading chair and get lost in a good book, or work out to loud music, to name just a few things. Winter is coming up and I tend to be unmotivated, but the nature trails are also good places to go cross country skiing, which is always so peaceful and majestic. Can't wait!

Try this one more time...My kitchen table that sits in front of the window that looks out at a palm tree. Definitely not as pretty as your tree. But Florida is not known for beautiful trees. Anyway, my kitchen table is very close to the cookies milk and the potty.

Love the tree. Totally jealous of the 14 acres. We love to go camping out in the boonies (where we have to dig our own latrine). My husband even built me a toilet with a real lid just for camping... ha. But, I'll tell you, being out amongst the trees, river, and nature with no electronics, no phone, and no interruptions (other than the kids and dogs) is a HUGE stress reliever for me.

I hope you get your swing soon. :)

OMG! I'm totally feeling a honey do comin on. Get that man of yours to tote a table down to that tree (an antique, with white chipped paint comes to mind) throw a linen tablecloth over it, add a high back Queen Anne chair-that swivels (sometimes great ideas just pop out after a good swivel), add an ice bucket, a cooler filled with lunch, a goblet for some sweet tea, a little crystal bowl filled with floating red roses, and the lap-top and...and...oh hell, where exactly is this tree. I'm all over this!

I'm so bug-a-phobic that I probably wouldn't go near a swing on a tree! Oh, but maybe you could sneak in an idea to have your husband build a little writer's cottage on your huge lawn. *Sigh* I wish I had a writer's cottage...but I live in the city on the 10th floor with nothing but balconies to get fresh air. Yeah, I could go out for a walk, but I would rather have a writer's cottage ^.^

I love your positive attitude! I love nature too and I often sit in my backyard (much, much smaller than yours) but we have a swing that I can relax on and unwind. Sometimes I bring my laptop out with me to write also. Of course winter will bury it all in snow before long and I will have to find other ways to appreciate nature until next spring!

Nothing like nature to get the brain churning. And make you feel good!

We walk to the village and look at the sea every day. Makes me feel wonderful all day.

What an awesome picture!! You must get a lot of inspiration just walking around your property. Wish I had nearly as much space, but at least I have a decent view for So. Cal!
